Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement welcomes you to the University District! Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement (OCCSE) helps off-campus students build stronger community in their neighborhood and get the resources they need.
Community Ambassadors
Community Ambassadors are employed by the Office of Student Life and work in the Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement Office in Student Union. Community Ambassadors directly interact with residents to provide the resources and information necessary for a meaningful college experience.
Community Events
The Community Ambassadors host a variety of functions from local street events to large scale events that include the entire University District. Event themes range from healthy eating/cooking demonstrations to learning safety tips. If you see our banners, stop by for useful information and giveaways!
Winona Block Watch
Winona Block Watch is an initiative that was created to increase neighborhood safety in the University District. Community Ambassadors give tips on ways to promote safety among off-campus residents. All students are encouraged to engage their Community Ambassador and to participate in Winona Block Watch activities throughout the year.
University Neighborhoods
Many neighborhoods surround each Campus and there are plenty of diverse areas to visit. Each offers a unique variety of activities; be sure to check them out!
